The CADK COVID Business Grand Fund was a partnership of CAP-21 and concerned community volunteers. Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, concerned full-time and seasonal residents, visitors and several donor-advised funds, donations were provided to create a Grant opportunity whereby small businesses with less than 25 full time employees applied by filling out a simple application with supportive financial documentation. Applications were reviewed and evaluated by a small group of local skilled volunteers along with several directors of CAP-21. Rounds 1 & 2 were very successful by distributing $150,000 among 24 small business owners during the Summer and Fall of 2020. These small businesses are located between Woodgate and Raquette Lake and clearly experienced a financial hardship due to the COVID pandemic. Some were never able to open in 2020 as a result of NYS pandemic mandates but are hopeful to reopen in 2021.
